The Scott Lawson Group, Ltd. has long assisted customers with a full range of hazardous building materials management services for materials including asbestos, PCBs, mold and bacteria.

If you are purchasing, renovating or demolishing a building, The Scott Lawson Group, Ltd. can provide a comprehensive building survey that identifies the type and quantities of hazardous building materials that may be present. If removal or remediation of hazardous materials is necessary, The Scott Lawson Group, Ltd. can also design a customized project that defines how abatement needs to be done from both a legal and regulatory compliant perspective. This will also help ensure safe removal and disposal of all hazardous building materials in accordance with respective regulations. In addition, we have the capability of providing project management oversight where we act as “Clerk-of-the-Works” regarding hazardous building materials abatement during the renovation or demolition project.

As part of this service, we routinely monitor the work of a remediation contractor to assure that it is completed in accordance with the project’s scope of work, collect appropriate samples to determine that workers are adequately protected and the environment is safe from contamination. We monitor the packaging and disposal of all project waste material and collect waste to make sure that all hazardous building materials from a particular job are properly handled and disposed.

The Scott Lawson Group, Ltd. also performs Phase I and Phase II Environmental Audits, generally required for property sales or transfers. Phase I audits are typically a paper review of the historical use of the property; a Phase II audit typically requires more intrusive testing and evaluation.
